"Tomichi Creek Autumn Cottonwoods"
This is an oil painting I did of an autumn scene of cottonwood trees in their autumn colors on Tomichi Creek. Tomichi Creek begins in the White Pine area of Gunnison County east of Gunnison and flows west where it meets the Gunnison River in the Dos Rios area just south of Gunnison. "Tomichi" is a Ute Indian word that means water that smokes. In the winter when the water in the creek is warmer than the surrounding air the result is condensation that has the appearance of smoke coming off the water. This painting is 10X8 in size on canvas board. $400.00 plus H/S contact Rocky Mtn Frames and Gallery at (970)641-5033.
